You have heard of Profhilo. But now there is Seventy Hyal 2000 and Jalupro on the market, and choosing the right treatment feels a lot more complicated than it used to.

What is a skin booster?

Skin boosters are injectable treatments that deliver moisture, nutrients, or collagen-stimulating ingredients directly into the dermis. Unlike fillers, they do not add volume. They improve hydration, texture, elasticity, and overall skin quality from within.

Profhilo, Seventy Hyal 2000, and Jalupro all sit in this category, but they work in entirely different ways. Knowing which one is right for you comes down to your skin type, age, and what you actually want to fix.

Profhilo: bio-remodelling for lax, dehydrated skin

Profhilo is one of the highest-concentration hyaluronic acid (HA) injectables on the market, with 64mg of HA per treatment. It contains two forms: high molecular weight and low molecular weight HA, which work together to deeply hydrate the skin and trigger the production of collagen and elastin.

Unlike traditional fillers, Profhilo spreads under the skin rather than filling a specific area. It is injected at five specific points on each side of the face using the BAP technique, giving whole-face remodelling from just ten injection points per session.

Best for: skin laxity, fine lines, dehydration, and loss of firmness. Most popular with patients in their late 30s, 40s, and 50s.

Sessions required: two sessions, four weeks apart. Most patients return every six months for a maintenance treatment.

Results last: approximately six months.

If you want a treatment that genuinely remodels your skin rather than just temporarily plumping it, Profhilo is in a category of its own. You can find more detail on our skin boosters page.

Seventy Hyal 2000: pure hydration and glow

Seventy Hyal 2000 uses ultra-high molecular weight hyaluronic acid (over 2000kDa), which means it stays closer to the surface and delivers intense hydration where the skin needs it most.

It works by drawing water into the skin, creating a visible glow response. Patients often describe their skin feeling like it has had a deep drink of water from the inside out.

Best for: dull, dehydrated skin; improving texture and radiance. Suitable from age 18, making it popular with younger patients who want to maintain skin health before collagen loss becomes a concern.

Sessions required: three sessions, four weeks apart. Maintenance every six to twelve months.

Results last: six to twelve months, depending on skin type and lifestyle.

Seventy Hyal 2000 is also a strong option for needle-sensitive patients. It is well tolerated across most skin types.

Jalupro: fibroblast stimulation for fine lines and dark circles

Jalupro is different from both Profhilo and Seventy Hyal 2000. While it contains hyaluronic acid (80mg), what makes it stand out is its amino acid complex: glycine, L-proline, L-leucine, and L-lysine hydrochloride.

These amino acids stimulate fibroblasts, the cells responsible for producing collagen and elastin. The result is genuine skin regeneration, not hydration alone.

Best for: fine lines, skin laxity, uneven texture, dark circles under the eyes, and dull skin caused by sun damage or lifestyle. Works well for patients in their late 20s and 30s who are seeing the first signs of skin ageing.

Sessions required: typically two to four sessions, two weeks apart, then maintenance every three to six months.

Results last: three to six months for the initial course; longer with regular maintenance.

Jalupro is also one of the few skin boosters suitable for use under the eyes. An area where Profhilo cannot be used due to the delicate skin and anatomy. If dark circles or crepey under-eye skin are your main concern, Jalupro is worth discussing in your consultation.

How to choose the right treatment

The right product matters, but the person injecting it matters more. Before you book anywhere, it pays to know how to check your aesthetics practitioner is qualified.

Choose Profhilo if you are in your mid-30s or older and your main concern is skin laxity, loss of firmness, or overall skin quality decline. Profhilo gives the most comprehensive whole-face remodelling of the three.

Choose Seventy Hyal 2000 if you want a hydration reset and visible glow. This is ideal for younger patients maintaining skin health, or anyone whose skin looks flat and dehydrated regardless of how much water they drink.

Choose Jalupro if fine lines, dark circles, or crepey under-eye skin are your priority. The amino acid complex targets the root cause of skin ageing at cell level, not just the surface appearance.

If you are unsure, a consultation with Mahtab will identify exactly which treatment suits your skin. You can book a free consultation here.

Can you combine these treatments?

Yes, and many patients choose to. Profhilo and Jalupro work well together: Profhilo provides full-face bio-remodelling while Jalupro targets specific concerns such as fine lines around the mouth or crepey skin under the eyes.

Seventy Hyal 2000 can also be combined with other treatments, though your practitioner will advise on timing to avoid overloading the skin. All three can form part of a broader skin health plan that might include polynucleotide treatments for deeper cellular regeneration.
